NEXT MEETING
Our next meeting will be on August 25, 2008 at DJ World in
Hamden, CT
This will be our
first official meeting since our successful All Star Event in June. DJ World
has been gracious enough to host our full meeting. This is also the first time
SNAPDJs is holding a meeting in the Connecticut area!!!!

Guest Speaker : Bettie-Jeanne
Bettie-Jeanne's passion for line-dancing has expanded from the teaching of line
and partner dance to include full service Disc Jockeys and Party Hosts. Starting
in the early 90's, her business has helped earn her the honor of “Best Line
Dance Instructor” by the readers of Country Music Connection Magazine. Tonight
she will give basic line-dance lessons, and her specialty has always been
“patient teaching to those with two left feet!”
Guest Speaker : Peter George
Peter is a marketing coach and sought-out expert, known for helping
self-employed professionals consistently attract not only more clients, but more
profitable clients. Through coaching, mastermind sessions, and workshops, he
shows business owners how to significantly increase their income by marketing
more effectively and working smarter.
Prior to deciding to become self-employed in 1990, Peter worked for one of the
world's most recognized companies, Sony. It was there that he honed his
marketing skills and learned how to help others succeed. He has spoken
extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, England, and the Caribbean to audiences
ranging from 10 to 1,200 people, and gets great pleasure from helping others
achieve their goals.

mobile DJs dedicated to solving the unique
and complex issues of being a full-time
mobile DJ.)
We Welcome back Cap to Discuss Major
Contract Updates. This will be a
workshop format, not a presentation? Guests
are asked to come up with any circumstances
they've run into that has burned them and
we'll see how the contract might help
relieve the results, at least legally.
This years meeting will also include an
updated version of his contract including
the deletion of his clause "The Money Back
Guarantee.

having some fun with the DJ's using the Game Show Mania's “Face Off” Unit. PJ
will show different ways in getting use out of your Game Show. If you don't have
a Game Show, No Problem. We will also be discussing other ways of entertaining
your crowd with other interactive games.

Guest Speaker : Ardena Lee-Fleming

Regional Director, Central Rhode Island Johnson & Wales University, Small Business Development Center

Ardena has worked as Regional Director at the RI Small
Business Development Center since July, 2006. She provides assistance
as a business counselor and advisor to entrepreneurs small businesses
located in Central/Southern Rhode Island.
Prior to accepting
this position she worked as Senior External EEO Business Development
Officer for Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT). Ardena
was responsible for launching and managing RIDOT’s Small Business
Initiative that targets minorities and women engaged in transportation
related businesses.
Ms. Lee-Fleming was appointed in 2002, and
served as Governor Carcieri’s Deputy Director of Community Relations
for 3 years prior to her work at RIDOT. Ardena worked as a community
and project leader, liaison, commissioner, and board member and
volunteer serving various organizations including: Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. State Holiday Commission, Family Service of Rhode Island,
National Coalition of 100 Black Women-Rhode Island Chapter, Rhode
Island Cultural Education Enrichment Program, LEAD Mentoring Program.
Preceding
the Governor’s Office, Ardena worked for the Rhode Island Convention
Center and the Providence-Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau as
Director of National Accounts from 1996 to 2001. She was primarily
responsible for account management, marketing and business development
of the Association Market and high profile accounts located in the
Washington DC Metro Area.
Originally a native a Neptune, New
Jersey, Ardena resides in Providence, Rhode Island with her husband
Will, and two sons, Nigel & Evan. Ardena completed her MBA in Global
Business Leadership with a Concentration in Marketing at Johnson &
Wales University’s Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School, Providence,
RI. (May, 2006). She also received her Bachelor of Science Degree in
Marketing from Johnson & Wales University, (June, 1983).
